About Kim M. Seidel

Kim M. Seidel, MA, LPC, NCC is a passionate and dynamic trainer, who happens to be an adopted child, trauma survivor and therapist. She is well versed in the emotional and behavioral struggles that adopted/foster children can present with. Kim truly understands the intricacies and challenges of parenting these beautifully unique children. She is the parent of two biological children (ages 17 & 20) and helped to raise an adopted step-daughter, while serving as a relative caregiver for over the past 20 years.
Kim was highly successful in preserving adoptions for over 10 years in private practice working as a contracted provider for the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. She is now focused on empowering professionals and parents alike to create more successful foster parenting experiences. Kim excels at helping caregiver’s to reconnect with their children who have dealt with any level of trauma related to adoption, parent separation, medical issues or any other dramatic change that can alter a child’s feelings of security and protection. Kim understands that supporting parents and professionals is imperative to creating safe and loving homes in which all of our children can thrive.
Kim is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Nationally Certified Counselor, Post Institute Certified Parent Coach and Certified Great Behavior Breakdown Instructor. She has over 20 years of experience, practicing in private and public mental health agencies, as well as in educational settings.
